The Hon. Prime Minister this morning told Parliament of the appointment of James Christopher LaHatte.

The King in Privy Council has approved the appointment of the New Zealand lawyer, as the new Anti- Corruption Commissioner for a five-year contract effective on July 1.

The  PM said this is a great milestone for Tonga now with the appointment of the first Anti-Corruption Commissioner for Kingdom.
 
The Anti-Corruption Commission Act was enacted in Parliament in 2007.
