Lord Fakafanua, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, recently participated in the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC), hosted by the Parliament of Uganda and chaired by Rt Hon Anita Among, the Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, in Kampala, Uganda, from 3-7 January 2024.
On 13 December 2023, the Legislative Assembly of Tonga was honored to host to His Excellency Professor Hon. Hao Ping, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC) of the National People's Congress of China, and members of the FAC.
This week, the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) proudly celebrates the 16th anniversary of its Annual Law Week, focusing on the theme "Law Making Processes". This theme highlights the processes, procedures and collaboration that shapes law making in Tonga. Yearly, Law Week has served as a space to bring greater public awareness to a variety of legal issues the AGO thought was worth exploring.

Lord Fakafanua led a delegation from the Parliament of Tonga to the Global Parliamentary Forum that was held in Marrakech, Morocco on 9 October 2023. The delegation included Lord Tu’iha’angana (Deputy Speaker of Parliament) and Hon. Dr ‘Aisake Eke (Chairman of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts).
