TONGATAPU number one Noble Representative led Members of Parliament in a round of applause acknowledging the fantastic performance of the ‘Ikale Tahi in their victory against Namibia in 35-21 points on Wednesday.

The ‘Ikale Tahi played tremendously scoring five tries and a bonus point putting Tonga second in place of the All Black in Pool with six points. The All Black leads with nine points. Argentina follows with five points.

Lord Vaea said congratulated the team for their victory. On behalf of the Nobility in Tonga Vaea acknowledged their gratefulness for your great effort in the match against Namibia. He also thanked the Captain and the players for their great effort that make all Tonga so proud of them.

He also wishes the ‘Ikale Tahi team the best of luck in their upcoming games. Tonga is to play against the Pumas next Tuesday morning (4 October) and the mighty All Black on October 9.

There are crucial games for Tonga. For ‘Ikale Tahi to qualify into the quarterfinal the team needs to win over Argentina and with a bonus point. Tonga is ahead by one point over the Pumas.

Lord Vaea also thanked the Government for their ongoing support of our rugby team.

Meanwhile Ha’apai 12 MP Veivosa Taka is optimistic Tonga will make it to the quarterfinal.

“From the sideline view, I am positive with the team’s fitness and their preparation effort they are 101 percent ready to make it into quarterfinal,” explained Veivosa.

For that reason, Taka called for a nationwide ongoing red support of the ‘Ikale Tahi.
