A by-election has been set for August 31 for the election of a new Noble Representative of the Niuas.

 A call for action has been made to our leaders including Cabinet and the Legislative Assembly of Tonga from Women and Children’s Crisis Centre (WCCC) young women on six issues they need to address.

This is the young female leaders’ voices to mark International Youth Day 2020 yesterday. This year’s theme Youth Engagement for Global Action seeks to highlight the ways in which engagement of young at the local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes.

THE Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Lord Fakafanua has challenged the participants of ‘She Leads Fale Alea ‘o Tonga’ program to play a leading role in addressing the youth unemployment issue.

‘Parliament should be inclusive and the need for all gender and youth voices on different perspectives be heard’ says Speaker of Parliament. 

Lord Fakafanua made the remarks when he met 30 young girls of the ‘She leads Fale Alea’ Monday evening, 3rd of August.
