The Legislative Assembly convenes this morning and is now adjourned until further notice.

This is to allow two MPs to hand deliver to Australia the Parliament’s reply to his Majesty King Tupou VI‘s opening address of Parliament last week.

They are Ha’apai Number 2 Noble Representative Lord Fakafanua and the Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Semisi Sika.

Following the state opening ceremony, the first usual business of Parliament is to respond to the King’s royal address.

Legislators finalized the House’s reply this morning.

King Tupou VI and royal party left for New Zealand on his way to Australia at the weekend.

The King’s tour of Australia is for the baptism of his newborn granddaughter, Nanasipau’u Eliana Tuku’aho.
