The business and work of the Assembly is governed by the Rules of Proceedings and Standing Orders. It is enacted pursuant to clause 62 of the Constitution and section 18 of the Legislative Assembly Act. (Cap. 4) as ammended.

Committees

Committees are the operational arm of the Assembly which is responsible for interacting in detail with the government and line ministries, NGOs and the public in general and to formally report back to the Assembly on its findings.

Papers & Petitions Presented

Petitions are a way of contributing directly to the House on a matter that members of society feel strongly about. It is a way of ensuring parliamentary accountability and transparency. Petitions must be lodged with the Clerk, and has to follow parliamentary protocols.
