Prime Minister proposes that Chairman of the Whole House Committee, Sifa Tu’utafaiva should be awarded the “Man of the Year” award. The Prime Minister Lord Tu’ivakano made the comment while making his final speech as the House rounded up its work for the 2012 session.
Lord Tu’ivakano told the House that Mr. Tu’utafaiva performed his duty to the highest level despite the difference in their political beliefs. He attributed the smooth running of debates and the work of the Whole House Committee to the way Mr. Tu’utafaiva handled the Committee. Lord Tu’ivakano thanked Mr Tu’utafaiva and congratulated the Speaker for a job well done despite his young age and the short time that he has been in the Speaker’s seat. Lord Tu’ivakano also thanked the Nobles and the people’s representatives for all their hard work.
The Speaker Lord Fakafanua thanked the members for their support and also the staff of Parliament because without their support and assistant he would not have been able to perform his duties.
