Parliament Opens for special Session.

THE Tongan Parliament this morning opened for a special session. In order for the House to conduct its business, a soft opening ceremony was held in accordance with section 17 of the Legislative Assembly Act regarding the opening and closing of Parliament.

The King was represented by three Nobles, Lord Vaea, Lord Tu’iha’ateiho and Lord Ma’afu. Lord Vaea read out the message from the throne.

The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Legislative Assembly and broadcast live from Radio Tonga.
