TONGATAPU 9 people’s representative, Kaveinga Fa’anunu has passed away.
Tongatapu 1 MP ‘Akilisi Pohiva informed the house of the sad news during its sitting this afternoon.
Fa’anunu died at the age of 49 after battling with head and neck cancer that was inoperable.
The Acting Speaker of Parliament, Lord Tu’i'afitu conveyed the Parliament’s condolences to families and loved one for his passing.
Information from family says Fa’anunu died at 8:39pm Vaiola Hospital last night after being hospitalised for sometimes.
He was first elected as Tongatapu 9 People’s Representative on 25th November, 2010. Fa’anunu attended the opening of the Legislative Assembly last month before he was admitted to the hospital.
His burial is scheduled for Wednesday July 27th, 2011.
