THE Legislative Assembly is adjourned today so members could pay their last respect to the passing of the People’s representative for constituency Tongatapu 9, Kaveinga Fa’anunu.
Yesterday morning, members of Parliament observed a one minute silence in respect to their departed comrade.
In addressing parliamentarians, the Acting Speaker of the house, Lord Tu'i'afitu said this ritual is normally carried out worldwide in loving memory and in remembrance of a passing co-worker.
All members of the house stood in silence for a brief interval to remember their departed friend.
Meanwhile the Acting Speaker is to lead MPs in joining friends, family and loved one in attending the deceased funeral at Tu’atakilangi before he is put to rest later today afternoon at Telekava II cemetery.
Kaveinga Fa’anunu, 49, died on Sunday after a long illness.
