THE Legislative Assemble is adjourned until next Monday August 8.
This is after the house unanimously voted in favour of a motion put forward by the Acting Speaker of Parliament Lord Tu’i'afitu during its sitting last Thursday July 29.
It was aimed at allowing parliamentarians to work on regulations and Bills being handed down from Parliament for consideration by various Standing Committees.
Most of these ordinances and regulations will be reconsidered by the Finance, Law and Social Committees before they are resubmitted to the House for further deliberation.
Meanwhile the Speaker of the house Lord Lasike resumes duty today after attending the 2011 CPA conference in London.
